S7 SOCCER ACADEMY should go into this years Orphange Cup Competition in confident mood after a convincing 10-1 friendly win against Thwaites Brewery.

Goals from Errey, Hamlin (4), Nabeel, Macquarrie (3) & Glover.

S7 started the game on the front foot, putting pressure on the Thwaites back 4 right from the off, David Hickey and Ryan McKenna were dominating the midfield and managed to find lots of space in midfield and dictated the play.

The opening goal came on 7 minutes, a corner kick was whipped in by Jordan Macquarrie and met by a powerful Jake Errey header which arrowed into the corner of the net.

S7 continued to dominate with Hamlin dropping into the hole and finding acres of room. It was indeed Hamlin who doubled the lead, he dropped into midfield to pick the ball up, played the ball out to left back Sargeson and continued his run forward, Sargeson found the run with a delightful 40 yard pass which Hamlin neatly controlled and rounded the goalkeeper to pass the ball into the empty net.

The industrious Mo Nabeel made it 3 when his goal bound effort deflected & looped over the stranded goalkeeper.

Macquarrie should of made it 4 when he beat the offside trap but his finish was weak, he got his rewards towards the end of the of the first half making the scoreline 4-0 at the break.

S7 were rarely tested at the back and when Thwaites did look to get forward the impressive paring of Errey and Kyle Jackson, making his debut, thwarted any attacks.

Chris Baker replaced the injured Ellis Gallaher, McKenna reverted to right back, Nabeel moved inside alongside Hickey leaving Baker the freedom of the right wing.

The second half continued in the same vain and Joe Glover also making his debut made it 5 when he got on the end of a Macquarrie centre to easily side foot home from 10 yards.

Macquarrie himself got his second when his pace got him in behind, it looked as though he had over run the ball but did well the keep the ball in, and beat the keeper from a tight angle.

S7 were playing some great football at this point and a good move which saw Glover play Hamlin in made it 6. Hamlin finishing confidently when 1 on 1 with the keeper.

Moments later Macquarrie completed his hat trick, Baker took a short corner to Macquarrie who cut inside and curled a shot in off the far post.

Hamlin not to be outdone also scored his hat trick with arguably goal of the game. He controlled Jordan Watson's long kick out and flicked the ball inside to Macquarrie and made a darting run forward, Macquarrie played a perfectly timed through ball in between the 2 centre halves. Hamlin controlled with his first touch and with his second he chipped the ball over the advancing keeper.

Macquarrie won a penalty late on which he opted not to take, so Hamlin stepped up to score his 4th and S7's 10th of the game. A cheeky chipped penalty that beat the despairing goalkeeper.
Thwaites scored a late consolation in the dying minutes when some sloppy play lead to a series of corners for Thwaites. Watson in goal made a couple of outstanding saves but was unable to do anything about the rebound which was lashed home from close range.

S7 have been handed a potential banana skin in the first round playing last years beaten finalists Totally Wicked.
